Went to Oxford this weekend for Hayseed and had so much fun seeing everyone and having a good time. I did manage to completely bust it (I'm so graceful) and cut my leg. Turns out it got pretty infected so I went to the health center and went back today for my results of the culture. Turns out I have two different bacteria and the Doctor tells me I shouldn't go to Oxford anymore because it's a dirty place. I may not agree but it made me laugh.
Derby Days is this weekend! I'm pretty excited to see everyone's dances.
Derby Days '11
Received another big packet from nursing school of things to fill out and from all the forms I've been filling out, I have determined that forms are sometimes ambiguous. Some things they ask all I can think is "what does this mean?" maybe I just think too much into it.
p.s.- it's weird going to the same parties as my brother.
I came across this blog earlier today and I have NOT stopped reading it! It's called Confessions of a Student Nurse and is written by a nursing student (from 2005) named Katie. I love how brutally honest she is about the good, bad, and ugly. Her honesty is making me feel even better about nursing school!
This spring break was amazing! Even though I went back to Jackson for the week I got so much accomplished that I needed to do.
My week started off with shadowing at my mom's office, she works in a dermatologist office where they specialize in skin cancer. It was interesting to say the least... I will say I got better as the day went on. I was able to watch some biopsies and even a botox injection.
I had lunch with all the grandparents and did a ton of shopping. My new favorite thing is bright skinny jeans!! I have a pair of coral ones from Anthropologie and love them!
I have a huge packet UMC sent me that I'm getting done for nursing school and I was able to check physical and tuberculosis test off the list. (and in case you were wondering I came back negative for TB). I'm still having trouble finding a CPR class either through the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association so if anyone knows of any classes please let me know!
I experienced my very first St. Patty's Day Parade in Jackson. I'm not sure how I've managed to go 20 years living in Jackson and never been to the parade before. I had so much fun and can't wait to go back next year!
We found Mrs. Mary Anne and Dave!!
Can't wait to go back to Oxford this weekend for KA Hayseed (might as well go while I still can)! Here's to a good week!
Okay this blog post is about NOTHING serious. I'm posting it because I feel like everyone is in kind of a slump and just counting down the hours until spring break and people just need a good laugh right about now.
I came across this show over Christmas break called "An Idiot Abroad". Basically it's a show about a guy named Karl who is sent around the world by his friends (Ricky Gervais and a guy named Steve). What makes it so absolutely hilarious is Karl's awful attitude about the whole thing, he completely hates it (and he's British).
On season one they sent him to the seven wonders of the world, and on season two they give him a bucket list to choose things off of.
Here is some background on the clip I'm posting: Karl was sent to New Zealand to bungee jump and he absolutely refuses to do it (I would too), so they decide to send him to the place where the bungee jump originated. Now this just isn't any bungee jump, it's called a LAND DIVE; and it is located in a remote village. It's absolutely crazy to watch these people jump with vines around their ankles and land on the ground, but it's even better to watch Karl do it.
If you're looking for a good laugh on this Tuesday here you go:
***DISCLAIMER: since it is a third world village there is some nudity and some bad language, but we're all adults right?? and don't do this at home.***
And if you didn't laugh I'm sorry, I hope you at least appreciate the psycho people who jumped off the top.
